‘Facets of Cicada's Wings’ is the latest solo exhibition of artist Feng Xiaorui, which presents his in-depth exploration of image generation mechanism and media in recent years based on the triple concepts of “potion, dissolution and reconstruction”. 

The works in the exhibition combine chemical reactions, natural extracts and image processing techniques to create a set of light but complex visual forms that resemble cicada wings. Between microscopic and macroscopic, between matter and perception, viewers will enter a perceptual space where images are constantly generated, dissolved and regenerated. A thousand phases emerge, like wings as thin as light, and the viewer will cross the boundaries of established vision in this variation of images.
